David Lynch: Digital Nudes
David Lynch: Digital Nudes
Book
‘I started by painting. For me, painting is the most private activity in the world. You are alone. Film is the most public activity, we work as a team. And in between, there is photography.’
— David Lynch
Digital Nudes brings together 125 photographs by filmmaker, photographer, painter, and designer David Lynch. The series of colour and black-and-white digital images is devoted to an exploration of the female body. This large-scale publication is a follow-up to Nudes, which was published by Fondation Cartier.
In Digital Nudes, the design plays on tactility and senses. We chose to undress the book and loose the jacket in favour of a highly textured cover to create an unsettling first tactile experience. Various uncoated papers are inserted, with each section revealing a different hue. The design highlights the different tonalities explored in this new series.
