A publication accompanying Talking in Dreams, the major monographic exhibition by Colombian artist Ofelia Rodríguez (1946–2023), presented at Spike Island, Bristol.

Ofelia Rodriguez’s work is deeply rooted in her exploration of cultural identity, memory, and myth. This book reflects the vibrancy and ingenuity of her practice, drawing inspiration from her geometric, graphic sensibility and her distinctive use of borders. Defiant typography and bold materials reflect the energy, precision, and unapologetic attitude of her approach.

The book’s structure takes an unconventional path. It opens directly into her artwork, with essays and biography placed at the centre, printed on delicate, almost transparent paper. This inversion mirrors her practice’s layered, exploratory nature.
